Lauren is the current recipient of an ISS Institute Fellowship and George Alexander Foundation Grant, which supports her current research into adaptive reuse and demolition cultures across Europe, as well as Creative Australia’s Marten Bequest Scholarship. In addition to built work and research, Lauren consults on architectural writing, publication strategy, and life cycle thinking.

Anti-Demolition

Learning from the past, adapting for the future

Institute for Specialised Skills & George Alexander Foundation Fellowship
2025-2026

Anti-Demolition explores demolition culture, circular construction, and the political forces shaping obsolescence. Through site visits, interviews, and analysis of built work, it examines how architects navigate spatial and regulatory constraints to prioritise care, transformation, and material longevity, extending the lifespan of buildings.

The Test of Time

From experiment into architecture

Marten Bequest Scholarship 2025-2027

The Test of Time investigates how experimental approaches to architecture, from material innovation to hands-on construction and interdisciplinary collaboration, can become more embedded in everyday practice. Through site visits, research residencies and practical training, the project examines pathways for alternative methods to move beyond the margins.

The major scholarship activity is to participate in the 2025-2026 cohort of Building Beyond Borders
